A Little Less Would Help The Rest

Dear San Diego Water Authority, please authorize reduced consumption of water use to San Diego County Businesses (particularly via their sprinkler systems).

Why is this important?

Every day whether I'm walking, riding my bike, or driving, I see countless businesses running their sprinkler systems to water a couple of plants that don't need nearly as much water. Despite the fact that California (let alone the west coast) was never meant to produce the volume of agriculture it is currently trying to sustain, there is a drought. A drought in this area with such a large population is no surprise; they're commonplace, but when businesses are allowed the run half a dozen sprinklers for hours on end, spilling gallons and gallons of water into the street without any consequence there needs to be something said. If we can convince just a quarter of businesses in San Diego County to reduce their water consumption to 50%, or have them use their sprinkler systems on alternating days, the amount of water, and money saved would be staggering.
